Welcome to the first annual Creative Inking Blog Hop.Our theme is Coloring the World with Blendebilites. Sit back, grab a beverage of choice and enjoy!
Hope you like my project!
My sweet sister-in-law, Debbie, made an adorable new sweater for our Shih Tzu, Bailey. To thank her for all her hard work, I decided to make her a set of cards with envelopes. Instead of just handing them to her, I made a quick envelope box for her to store them in. The Cheerful Critters set in the Occasions Catalog is just what it implies, cheerful! For a special touch, the signs on each critter were made into shakers. I colored all the images in with Blendabilities. I love these markers! I have been practicing with my shading, but you don't have to shade with them. You can use them as you would our Marvelous Markers. The great thing about coloring with them is you don't see any lines in your coloring. It looks so professional when completed. I used the Dark, Medium and Light markers from the Bermuda Bay, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi and Daffodil Delight sets. Here is a close up of each card:
I used the Envelope Punch Board to whip up the box to put the cards in.The paper used to make this cute box is from two different paper packs. The first one is Irresistibly Yours. It can be colored with a brayer, but I chose to leave it white. It looks as if it was embossed with white embossing powder. The belly band was made with Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper. I also used Crushed Curry cardstock. The flower was punched with the new Flower Medallion Punch from the Irresistibly Yours DSP and stamped with one of the flowers from the Petal Potpourri set in Bermuda Bay ink. Lastly, I wiped the excess color off the embossed paper to leave a really neat effect. I thought the small dainty rose from the Artisan Embellishment Kit was the perfect last touch.
I hope Debbie likes her cards as much as Bailey likes his new sweater!
